Useful tips

  • •Instagram's profile grid now uses portrait 3:4 thumbnails, so old square-grid splitter templates can crop differently on current profiles.
  • •Keep faces, logos and text away from tile boundaries so small display differences or later Instagram changes are less likely to cut through important details.
  • •Use JPG for smaller upload files or PNG when preserving lossless image detail matters more than file size.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the tiles numbered backwards across the grid?

Instagram shows newer posts before older posts on a profile. To build the finished mosaic in the correct visual order, the bottom-right tile is normally posted first, then the remaining tiles work right-to-left and bottom-to-top.

What size are the exported tiles?

Every tile is exported at 1080 × 1440 pixels, a 3:4 portrait ratio designed to match the current Instagram profile-grid shape.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Cropping, tile creation and ZIP generation happen locally in your browser. Wid9et does not upload your source image or generated tiles.
