Useful tips

  • •Use a smaller page range for large PDFs if you only need part of the document.
  • •PDF text stores reading order imperfectly, so complex columns, tables and positioned text can need manual tidying after extraction.
  • •Your PDF is processed in the browser rather than uploaded to Wid9et.

Frequently asked questions

Can it extract text from a scanned PDF?

Not if the pages only contain images. This tool extracts the text layer already stored in the PDF and does not perform OCR.

Why can the text order look different from the PDF?

PDFs often store text as positioned fragments rather than normal paragraphs. Wid9et groups those fragments into readable lines where possible, but multi-column layouts, tables and unusual positioning can still extract out of order.

Does it preserve fonts and formatting?

No. The result is plain text. Fonts, colours, images and most layout formatting are intentionally not included.

What PDFs are supported?

Standard, unencrypted PDFs up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages are supported. Password-protected or unusual PDFs may not open.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and converted locally in your browser.
