How to use Crop PDF

  1. 1Select a standard, unencrypted PDF. You can crop the whole document or choose a From and To page range.
  2. 2Enter how much to remove from the top, right, bottom and left edges in millimetres or inches.
  3. 3Check the preview of the first selected page, then download the cropped PDF. Pages outside the selected range are left unchanged.

Useful tips

  • •Start with small margins and use the preview to avoid clipping text, page numbers or other content.
  • •PDF pages can have different sizes. Wid9et checks the entered margins against every selected page before enabling the download.
  • •The file is processed in your browser. Your PDF is not uploaded to Wid9et.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping permanently delete content outside the crop?

No. PDF cropping changes the page's visible CropBox, so content outside it is clipped when displayed or printed but can still remain in the PDF data. Do not use cropping as a way to redact sensitive information.

Will rotated PDF pages crop from the correct visible edges?

Yes. The tool accounts for 90°, 180° and 270° page rotation so top, right, bottom and left refer to the edges you see in the preview.

Does cropping reduce PDF quality?

The tool changes the page crop boundary rather than rasterising the document, so text and vector artwork keep their original PDF quality.
