How to play Number Merge Game

  1. 1Swipe, use the arrow buttons, or press the arrow keys/WASD to slide every tile in one direction.
  2. 2When two matching tiles collide, they merge into one tile with double the value and add that value to your score.
  3. 3Keep creating larger tiles until the board has no valid moves left.

Useful tips

  • •Try to keep your largest tile near a corner rather than moving it around the board.
  • •A move only adds a new tile when the board actually changes, so blocked swipes do not consume space.
  • •Each new tile is usually 2, with a smaller chance of a 4.

Frequently asked questions

How is the score calculated?

Every successful merge adds the value of the new merged tile to your score. For example, merging two 8 tiles into 16 adds 16 points.

When does the game end?

The game ends only when the board is full and no neighbouring equal tiles can be merged in any direction.

Can I play with a keyboard?

Yes. Use the arrow keys or WASD. On touch devices you can swipe directly across the board, and the on-screen arrows work everywhere.

How do personal bests and the leaderboard work?

Higher scores are better. The shared Wid9et game system tracks your best score and Global Top 10 state, while Draft games remain isolated from the real live leaderboard.

Does the board run locally?

Yes. Tile movement and merging happen in your browser. Only the shared score/leaderboard features communicate with Wid9et's game backend.
