Pokémon IV & Stat Calculator

Calculate a Pokémon stat or work backwards to find possible IV values.

How to use the Pokémon IV & Stat Calculator

  1. 1. Choose Calculate Stat to enter a known IV, or Find IV to work backwards from a displayed stat.
  2. 2. Enter the Pokémon's base stat, level and EVs for that stat.
  3. 3. Choose HP or another stat. For non-HP stats, select whether the Nature increases, leaves neutral or decreases that stat.

Useful tips

  • • Main-series IVs range from 0 to 31. Modern EV training normally uses up to 252 EVs in one stat.
  • • Four EVs contribute one point inside the stat formula before level scaling, because the calculation uses floor(EV ÷ 4).
  • • At lower levels, more than one IV can lead to the same displayed stat. Find IV therefore returns every matching IV rather than pretending there is always one exact answer.

Frequently asked questions

Which Pokémon games does this formula cover?

The calculator uses the standard Generation III onward main-series stat formulas. Earlier generations use different mechanics.

How are HP and the other stats calculated?

HP uses the base stat, IV, floor(EV ÷ 4) and level, then adds the level and 10. Attack, Defence, Special Attack, Special Defence and Speed instead add 5 and then apply the Nature modifier.

Why can Find IV return a range?

The game rounds down during stat calculation. Especially at lower levels, several IV values can collapse to the same displayed stat, so the tool tests all IVs from 0 to 31 and shows every match.

Does this handle Shedinja's HP?

No. Shedinja is a special case whose HP is fixed at 1, so its HP does not follow the normal formula used here.

Is this an official Pokémon tool?

No. Pokémon and related names are trademarks of their respective owners. Wid9et is an independent calculator and is not affiliated with Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures or The Pokémon Company.
